I'm new to building and i have already picked out the specs for my computer. I'm not sure whether they will all work together, so if you notice any outstanding problems with compatibility, anything I am wasting money on, or anything im missing, please tell me. Also, im hoping to use my hard drive and CD/DVD drives from my current computer. Will this work? One more thing (yes, i have a lot of questions) I hope to overclock this to 3.0 ghz, and im almost sure this would work, but any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Looks pretty good, you could lose some of that power supply unless youre definatly going to be running an SLI setup, or have a million hard drives attached to it. I would most likely get a 120 mm cooler to use too, you should have plenty of room in that case, and its a bit quieter especially when the temps start to rise Very Happy

Thanks chiefish, but did you take into consideration the two 120 mm fans in back of the case? And also, I do have two hard drives, combined at 500 gb. And no, i doubt i am going to go SLI, so what wattage would you suggest?

Im running a Q6600 on an EVGA m/b with 680I, an EVGA 8800gtx, two 250g h/drives in raid 0, along with dvd brnr, water pump, 4 120mm chasis fans, and a fan controller unit to regulate the speeds of them. I run 24/7 at 3.0 o/c with a 600 watt Seasonic p/s. I would say you would be fine with anything at 600watt or more , considering you most likely will have the newer stepping Quad core which is more energy efficient than mine and will run the o/c on less voltages.

Thanks a lot, that should save me some cash. But what about the cooling? My case will have a 250 mm side fan w/ two 120 mm rear fans. If i couple this w/ another 110 mm fan, should i be alright? Thanks.

I would think so, just give it a clean airflow thru the case. Very Happy
Good luck and enjoy

Go with a dual-channel 4GB kit (2x2Gb) to leave room for upgrade and for stability.

Wizzard, i have heard that a 4 x 1GB setup is usually faster than a 2 x 2GB setup. Is this true? If so, is it still not worth getting it?

Also, if i am planning to stick with those specs, but may get a GeForce 9800 when they come out, or go SLI with the current card, will 800w be enough for the PSU?
