This guy is dragging my name through the mud and I am thankful that someone told me about it. It's sad that I have to defend my name but that is the case. Has anyone other than this guy ever been disappointed in anything the got from me? In any trade? No! There hasn't been anyone. Just this one guy trying to cover his tracks after ripping me off.
I am an honest person and would not steal from any of you. My first computer was a 486 Packard Bell Pacmate 25MHZ so unlike a lot of you I am kind of new to this but like most of you I enjoy collecting these old chips. I only got into collecting chips a couple of years ago and have tried to catch up with some of the bigger collectors. I pay allot of money for my chips and buy almost all of them through USBid (...@usbid.com), www.2kprocurement.com (...@2kprocurement.com) and www.aattech.com (...@aattech.com). You can email these people for verification of what I am telling you. If I say it is NOS then I bought it as NOS and I paid for it. I buy in bulk so I can resell them and so that I can have chips to trade with.
If anyone would like to see the emails from my transaction with c.webster please just email me and I will forward them to you. They show that I didn’t do anything to this guy.
I guarantee everything that I have to trade or sell. If anyone is not 100% happy I will gladly make it up to them with another chip or there money back. I wish everyone on Ebay worked this way…

Lee, if possible, please remove other people e-mail addresses. The board and the site are periodically scanned by spam bots, and I'm sure these people don't want to get more spam than they already do.

I didn't think about that? I don't think they would mind but I will see if I can remove them until I get clarification. Thanks!

In case you all were wondering how this whole thing started, here are the emails from the start of problemsF
From Lee
I got the chips today and the book. I have a small problem with the
chips though. The 1601 has a leg broken off and another leg that is
cracked and will brake off if I try and stick it into anything. I
really only bought this auction for that particular PROM as I didn't have it yet. I wouldn't even bring it up but as a chip collector the
eg broken off is quite a big deal. I don't expect a refund but maybe
we can work something out on another chip?
Lee
From Chris
I got to thinking about your email below and the implication that I should be held accountable for the damage that occurred in transit and subsequently due to your own mishandling ("I ... have already broken the other leg off trying to stick it into antistatic foam."). That I definitely do not agree with. The ROM was already in conductive foam, so there was really no pressing need to remove it - particularly if one of the pins had a visible crack. I've sent dozens of chips with that same pin design both domestically and overseas, and all made it to their respective destinations unscathed. They, like yours, were carefully packed and adequately padded.
And now here I find myself continually being attacked by this guy! My father told me, "Son, never argue with an idiot; people watching might not know which one of you are the idiot". I |

On the contrary, I've done nothing but state the truth, whereas you have been sending out defamatory emails, threatened to interfere with my auctions, and continue to post outright falsehoods in your auction listings ever since this whole mess started.
You, sir, are a mental case, and definitely not to be trusted.
I have a feedback rating of 199, 100% positive, with many satisfied customers from this very forum...

| You ripped me off over 6 months ago and you are still bad mouthing me! I never even asked for my money back and I hadn't even mentioned your name since the time I thought this whole thing was concluded. I just found out today that you are still going at it 6 months later. Can't you just let this die? You got the best of me what more do you want? |

It wasn't sold as fully functional - it was sold as-is, with a photograph clearly showing its condition, and the pins were quite sound when I placed the chip in foam for shipment.
Lee is the only seller I know of who routinely puts "guaranteed to be fully functional" or "guaranteed authentic and to be in working order" in his listings - and as I said, he's in no position to make such outrageous claims. I know for a fact that not only does he not test his chips, he wouldn't even know how to. As for authenticity, I've already seen two examples in this forum of chips gmanbc sold that were obviously doctored in some way. It would be better to say instead, "money back if not satisfied" or something to that effect. At least that would be a tad more honest.

| I have over a nine months of training (8 hours a day) in electronics from the Army as I worked on the radar control system for the Vulcan Air Defense System so I know a little about electronics not to mention my BS in computer science. That withstanding I have a guarantee from the chip brokers that I buy from that they are fully functional so I can easily make that statement and back it up. Not to mention the fact that I will actually back up my warrantee! |

You ripped yourself off by mishandling a perfectly good collectible IC.

I was done ages ago... But as we've seen from your recent auction listing, you're still attempting to rewrite history. Why don't you just face facts - you destroyed the chip, so now you have to live with the consequences and stop blaming someone else.

Ok, guys, it's getting nasty. Apparently, nobody is going to change their mind, so further discussion is useless. I'm locking the thread.
