hi everyone! i'm new here... i joined this forum because all the other forums i've been to just couldn't give me a clear straight answer with regards to my cpu upgrade query... i have an hp pavilion dv6404ca laptop that has a quanta 30b7 65.2c mobo mated with nvidia's geforce 6150 chipset at the northbridge... i already have the latest hp f.42 bios installed in it... it's currently running on an amd tl-56 procy and i was wondering if i can upgrade its cpu to an amd tl-68... both amd tl-56 and tl-68 are s1g1 procies... the tl-56 has a 90nm architecture while the tl-68 has a 65nm architecture but i've read in some forums that the architecture size is quite irrelevant as someone already upgraded from a 90nm to a 65nm and it worked out great for him... thought it was just a tl-66 so that still does not answer my question... so, can i upgrade my procy to an amd tl-68 given the mobo, chipset, and bios that i have? any reply will be highly appreciated... thanks! Very Happy

your upgrade should work i have upgraded alot of laptop cpus to tl-66s and tl-68s without any problems... the only thing i have ever worried about is the tdp of the board. other than that it should work fine...
