I cant imagine it would take more than a BIOS update to allow this to work with at least all 4-series motherboards, I know Extreme Editions all work with most board with overclocking support, they show the unlocked multiplier and can alter it.

My friend managed to get several of these from China
That one in photo is one of them
We confirmed that apart from unlocked multiplier,
there are practically no difference to a normal E6500,
which means that you can put it on any motherboard as long as BIOS supports E6500
However, their overclocking performance is just fair, 4GHz speed could be achieved only with higher voltage, may be I am just out of luck, though Wink
But considering that Intel have no gurantee on the overclockability (they only "unlocked" it), such performance is within our expectations

btw, if anyone wants to buy one of these, I have one which was opened for testing for sale

They come with this, same as locked version.....
