u might of just missed the boat.. i hasnt hit here yet.. but there are signs of it reaching here in the last few weeks
i think cos Perth is so isolated and there has been no real recycling happening i can find such good chips.
But on the other hand i wont probably find much in the way of server cpus
update: on the way home i picked up a few more cpus including a Pentium D 945 3.2MHz/4M/800 (now im really amazed at what ppl throw out ) _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Hmm - you could always send it here for intensive testing. I wouldn't claim it is mine _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Yeah, the kerbside collections are excellent for CPU collectors. The bulk of my collection had some from the side of the road. The latest I've found is a Core 2 Duo 2GHz and some older chips I've found are Z-80, Intel 8085 and 386-16. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

Debs.. have you ever trawled your local council recycling site? You used to be able to take things as well as bring them.. but I don't know now since they went 'health and safety' mad... thinking if you take something and it hurts you (cuts, electrocutes, incinerates etc.) then you will sue them. I've occasionally 'swiped' a few small items when taking stuff, but don't think I could make it out with a PC. Anyway, it's not stealing... I pay my taxes! |

These days, with council "recycling depots" (better known as tips) all being privatised, I don't know any tips that would let you just walk out with what you want. If it is worth even the effort of carrying out, they will sell it but not give it. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
