|
|
If you find any processor, floating point unit, microcontroller or bit-slice processor, which is not in the CPU-World's database, please information about the chips and/or a picture with clearly visible markings in this thread or on the page below:
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPU_pictures_submissions.html
As a note, it may take some time for me to add new CPU/FPU/MCU families to the site, so don't expect that it will be added immediately.

I decided to consolidate information about CPUs, missing on CPU-World website, in one thread. Also, thread format would be useful for me in case if I need to request additional information.

The big issue is the site was originally for your collection.. so have you put limits on how far the site may stray for its original intention?
Personally.. I would say yes you have to.. otherwise you would go insane _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

It started as a personal collection with chip specs, and it's been this way for a few years. The site outgrew the collection, and at this time it's a CPU/FPU database with pictures from personal collection The things I'm trying to avoid right now:
- Adding countless modern microcontrollers. There are too many of them for me to handle. Their specs can be easily found on manufacturers' sites, so I don't know if I can add any value by re-posting them on CPU-World.
- Many modern SoCs (ARM-based, MIPS-based, etc): finding information on those is a pain, and there are too many of them.
- Peripheral/support chips: there are too many of them.
My current priorities (in the order of importance):
- Microprocessors, Floating Point Units
- Bit slice processors, Vintage SoCs
- Vintage microcontrollers (from 70s and 80s)
- ALU chips

I have such a CPU. This AMD Am188ER-40VI. Processor pale and small, so the photo is not of very good quality.
This is Intel 386CX:
This is Texas Instruments TI486SXLC-V25:
And here are some of the processors of the ex-USSR from my collection. There are still quite a lot of different processors production of the Soviet Union.

Such processors seemingly was not. At least I have them in the list is not found.
It's twins Motorola & Freescale on architecture PowerQUICC II:
Of course, these processors are from my collection. |

As a new user, cannot add more than 3 links (though I wanted to add only two images!). Administrators, please, take note of this.
Here is a backside of my UMC U5SD 486-40 chip:

The three link limit is to prevent spammers. Each of your images is two links - one for the image, the other for the linked URL. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Thank you, I supposed something like this. It is not comfotable, thought. I do post not very often, but trying to keep my posts as informative, as I can. And this limit do not do any help, literally speaking.
Anyway, this topic is not for site problems discussion, I am sorry to start it, and I think it will be better, to stop/remove this offtopic. |

Sorry about these limitations. One time we had a wave of spammers, posting multiple threads with a bunch of links in each. Limiting the number of links helped to stop the spam wave.
By the way, you don't need to use external sites to post pictures. You can attach up to 5 pictures to your post.
