|
|
Happy Chinese new year to everyone. As you may have known, 3 years before, I made a simple breadboard to run my 4004. After that, some guys in China asked me to make a tester for them. It was not made until recently since I did not have much free time. Now it is almost done
I made the first version couples of weeks ago, it does have some bugs. Now I have fixed them and am ready to make the second version.
The tester needs a intel 4289 to work. I don't have many, the only 3 are ordered by my Chinese friends, but the good news is on ebay, someone is selling NOS 4289s. I would get more there, if you need it.
The tester works with intel 4004 and 4040. I made an assembler and have programmed the board with 3 tests: The first is 8-bit waterflow light. Second, 8-bit counter, and the last, 4002 memory test.
The tester needs a 5V power supply, input is micro-USB. You may get the power from your computer or cellphone recharger. I added an over current protection circuit, to prevent damage if you plug your chips incorrectly or your chip is already disabled.
I also reserved the control lines of 4289 on the bottom of the board, so you may make your own applications by changing the EPROM and adding few logic circuits.
Pictures of the first version board is shown below. On the 2nd version, 4002,4004 and 4040 can also be mounted on a lock socket and then pluged onto the board, like the first picture. I didn't solder the lock socket on the board becaue they occupy huge space!
The price would be 45 USD without 4289, and 55 USD with a D4289(if I successfully buy them). If you would like to have this testboard, please post a reply, so I can deside how much component is needed. Thank you in advance!
Best regards!
LHF

Ide probly like one even without having the 4289, as I already have one here, that would also tell me if my chips is good or not. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

I think the best way to get 4289 is I buy them, install them on the board, and send the board to you. Sounds just like group buying yeah?
China is on vacation these days, all PCB factories and IC sellers are off work. I would not be able to make the first set until next week. Also, I have to do the soldering all by myself. So it may take sometime for you guys to wait for me. But I will be as soon as possible.
Thanks again!

Thanks to everyone's support!
The second picture seems corrupted, and I have fixed it.
And to D.8080, the tester is made by myself, it may take sometime for you to wait for it. If you are still in China at that time, of course there's no problem to accept payment in CNY and send it to you in Beijing.
