That's a beauty! What solvent do you prefer when cleaning up
chips? I just use denatured alcohol. Is there anything better to use.
This chip really cleaned up nicely!

I will usually just use alcohol, unless the chip has the black scratches from solder and other metals scraping against it, then I use Tarn-x silver and gold polish. Works great on the ceramic and dissolves the metal residues as well as polishing up the gold surfaces.
It also doesnt seem to affect the ink that was used on these older chips. Also works real well on getting off the gummy remains of old ESD foam that seems to melt over time and adhere to the legs of chips as well.

can I get it at like Wal-mart?

I am pretty sure just about anywhere, Shop Rite Wallyworld--AKA Walmart, A&P, Kmart, ect.
Grocery store is where I pick mine up at.
