I was hoping that you tossed the pentium in the air, and then quickly drew a pistol from a holster and shot the pistol at the pentium with one hand, while shooting the camera with the other hand. Wink

You are watching too many western films Smile

Intel's breakthrough!

---------------------------

This also tells me that a cpu is not going to stop a bullet, half of my faith in ceramics disappeared. I have to stick on the old "war and peace".
On the other hand, if the Empire ever reaches Earth, I can have a complete deflecting suit to fight back, granted that the Jedis arrive in time to rescue us all.

I forgot to say that there is absolutely no subliminal message in this picture Smile If I had a AMD ST or TI ceramic handy I would have done the same Smile I don't want to be sued by Intel for smear campaign Smile

I think I have a chipped SL22Z for the job. But I have only one left, so i must not miss it Smile

BTW, I was a bit disappointed by the way it breaks. I expected more fragments such as in glass... Maybe with a goldtop, it would be more spectacular... I should start a poll for this :-p

I would definatly be careful when shooting ceramic at such a close distance, I know that the ceramic of a spark plug will shatter car glass extremely easy. I have access to lots of old car glass and a very small fragment of the ceramic thrown at a relativly slow speed shatters the tempered and laminated glass with ease. I wouldnt want to see a lens get shattered by a piece of old cpu.
Otherwise that shot is awsome looking, almost three dimensional looking. Very Happy

very nice !
some video would be much more interesting though Cool)

p.s. curiosity - how did you manage to shoot the gun and press button on camera simultaneously ?

i could do video myself, but the fastest video ican get is QVGA@120fps on my cellphone which is descent if taking video of shooting from the side, but with such zoom i might miss and hit my cellphone instead 8 ))) any cheap way to get hands on high speed video unit ? anyone ?

This is a completely different technique, and at the moment, it cost much much more to set up a hi-speed video system...

Casio released a digital camera (Exilim EX-F1 among others) which is able to shoot films @1200 fps (but the resolution is low in this case). Could be interesting, but never had a hand on it, and didn't bought it just for tests Smile

Read the posts above. It's triggered by sound.

filming at speeds over 1000fps is expensive for sure.

Did anybody see it though for sale somewhere ( i did not google it yet)... may be i can buy it use and return it...really want to see some shots fired.

i have found interesting fast fps movies on yuotube, including one with tank shot and some armor piercing rounds. nice !

added: 1 million fps:
