My new PC config :
Engineering Sample Intel Xeon E5530 - 4x2,4GHz (will try to push it at min. 3,5GHz) --- used 60$ thanks to CPUShack for handling purchase
ASUS P6T SE S1366--- used 120$
3 x 2 GB DDR3 Hynix 1333 --- new 54$
GeForce 8800GTS 640MB --- used 50$
2 x WD Caviar 500GB SATAII AAKS@RAID0 --- new 72$
Fortron FSP700-60GLN --- new 55$
Pioneer DVR116D --- used 14$
case Raidmax Ares --- used 40$

total 465$
Not a super high end config but everyhting works smooth

Bad choice. 70% of them dead in 2 years after release. G80 is very hot, and after some time it needs reball. (Same for ATi HD2900). Change your card to Ati HD3*** or HD4***, they're faster, cheap, and don't have those problems. In my town used HD4850 costs $70. |

I know about that nVidia issues which starts on GeForce 6100 chipsets and 6800 VGAs - especially in notebooks where cooling system is poor. Mine have very good cooling and changed thermal paste - temperature in IDLE is about 45 degrees and not more than 55 in stress. I will use it to the end of it's days Hot air soldering station is waiting on my desk

That's nice. I knew some guy, he had 84 degrees at stock cooling.  |
