these 2 ended up being Q1DH ES LW80603002550AA from week 40 2008
so guessing an earlier stepping to the production 9320
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Itanium_2/Intel-Itanium%209320%20LW80603002550AB.html
one in good condition.. but other has some missing caps
so may use 2nd to remove heat-spreader so we can see what is underneath,
unless someone wants to make a reasonable offer
EDIT >> realised that the 2 characters have nothing to do with stepping... will see if I can work out what the diffence between AA & AB is _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

this week's "What did I Buy" lot
This lot wasn't as cheap as the last, but decided it was worth it due to the size of the lot and that they came from a test facility
Some you may recognise... but lets see if you can work out what else is in the lot
to give a bit of help with scale.. each chip is just under a inch square _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Light brown chips are likely VIA Eden or similar, or, less likely, AMD K7 BGA processors. There is one chip with two dies, which is probably Eden X2, or Nano X2.

You're right. It's a VIA QuadCore processor.

Yep

Most seem to be dual core and lower, but hopefully there is a few Quad cores hidden in the pile
There is a chip at about 11 o'clock in the pile.. just wondering if it is a naked CoreFusion, but I have never seen what one looks like without top plate _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Was it Pentium 100 with gold heatspreader? Or another Pentium chip without part number / S-spec markings on the back side?

so anyone want to have a guess at exactly what the processor is
You should be able to read part & sSpec.. but can you guess anything more about it _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
