I'm running up to Win3.0.
ok, in my museum:-)
Right now I sit in front of an XP SP2, my wife uses a 98SE and at the office W2K, XP and Solaris 8 CDE (hehe, on a SS20:-) - I still prefer to admin a sun from a sun.
Actually I don't even think about Vista.
Also not in my nightmares, there I sell my 4040ES again and again. _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

I'd consider it if I have a chance to try out a retail copy of the ultimate or at least something corporate (ie with all features available) before I buy, but I will never buy an initial release of a new version of a M$ OS because you can guarantee that for the next couple of years you will be paying to fix all their bugs!
As such, I can't vote in this poll, as my answer is a mere "maybe" _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Yup I'll be running it. I've done a lot of reading up on Vista over the last few weeks and it looks to be Microsoft's best OS to date. Im going hardcore and running 64 bit too Just a couple of days now before the DVD arrives.
Buy the OEM version and you'll save a bundle of money. Im personally going with Home Premium, comes with Windows Media Center too.
Have a read of this http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/winvista.asp, it really does look and sound great.
Mind you I've upgraded the PC in anticipation. AMD X2 3800+ @ 2.5Ghz , 2GB of DDR2 ram with a 7300GT PCI-E Gfx card should do the trick _________________ CPU-Me! Hippo's Collection Online |

pretty young:-)))
98SE is a nice OS for simple office use and non-enhanced internet. massive patched, safe (with the right add-on-software of course).
And it runs perfectly on cheap old hardware!
The last computer I paid myself was a P166.
Since that time my home equipment comes from my companies junkyard.
Nevertheless I must admit I begin to become curious on vista... |

Windows 98 is great for person who :
1) don't play a games - unstable
2) don't use internet - viruses, and unstable too
3) have patience to errors from time to time - windows with red symbol (especially kernel32, explorer)
4) like blue screens ... _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
