I just found this CPU posted on Ebay---
Will it work on my board?

CPU: AMD ATHLON XP

SPEED: 3000+MHz

SOCKET: 462 A

MODEL: AXDA3000DKV4E

You have to know if this CPU runs at 333 o 400 MHz FSB, I think to remember that exists in two models...
Else if it originally runs at 400 and has the multiplier locked is not so good for you because the 3000 rateing depends from used FSB too and you couln't change (raise) multiplier (locked) if you do not mod the motherboard...

I hope you can understand what I mean, my english is not so good today, I feel sad today...

No- your English is fine.
The Ebay listing didn't state the FSB speed, and the seller hasn't answered my question about it.....So I guess I'll have to find another chip! Sad

I'm sorry your having a sad day.

The model number indicates which chip this is. The E indicates 400 MHz FSB. The 333 MHz FSB version of the processor has a D in the model number instead.

I hope the rest of your day improves.

Thanks for this helpful info, NEON!
I'll look for a D model. (I assume you refer to the last letter in the model #?)

Yes, that is correct.

By the way, if you want to read the product number "code", then look here:
