I received in the mail today the non-engraved 286 style text 386 I had been searching for for a while now. It turns out it is quite old indeed. Week 19, 1986. Good enough for silver. icon_dance

Did you get it with the light blue plastic support that was on the eBay pic? The description mentionned that the CPU had been used, but there was apparently an unusual plastic support underneath the processor. Also, can you post a picture of the back? Thanks!

Here is the back. It is a blue pcb. The only function appears to be to elevate the chip from the surface of the board it was on. The chip is not soldered to this pcb. Each of the pins on the pcb are two sided with one side being male and the other female. The chips fits into this pcb by friction alone. I do not intend to remove it as it offers excellent protection from bending and such to the 386's pins.
