I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 in an Asus Crosshair board. I'm wondering about pulling the 6000 and installing a phenom x4 9950 unfortunatly the board only has an AM2 socket. I know they don't take full advantage of the FSB, should I wait to update both the board and the CPU.

Advice plz

I'll stick with your system unless you really need a X4 cpu for work or other program that takes advantage of multicore processors.

It'll work, go to "tom's hardware" and have a look at their rich cpu charts, very good work. There you'll find a lot of answers.
