I'm a little bit panic.
Cars, building, metal, IT... business are droping down here.
All my friends here are complaining about profit reduction.

Here we see panic, many macro-economic indicators politics manage in TV are very bad, but I see same traffic jams, hotels are full, people flying appears the same.
I think real crisis will come in some months if petrol cost will not drop, from my point of view this is real reason origin of actual crisis. All depends of petrol costs.

I don't reduce my investments on this hobby because of this, by now.

Gas has dropped about a dollar a gallon here in the last week or two. Back down to 2.99 a gallon for regular.

For us it is bad, as our economy is driven mainly by digging stuff out of the ground and selling it into China, Japan, Korea and India (and the getting it back as plasma TVs and general junk that goes straight into landfill).

Our dollar has dropped by 35% against the US dollar in the past 6 weeks and 20% against the Euro in the past 3 weeks. This is due to our currency tracking commodity prices, which are diving.

Luckily our banking system is very strong, so we haven't been subject to bank failures like the US, Europe, UK etc.

Overall it is bad for the world, but had to happen. So it may be hard times for some for a coupe of years, but it will all be a blip when you look back on it in 5-10 years (just like 87). China will still grow, and its appetite for raw materials isn't going to retreat.

WE see panic,
Though I voted just "Hard time" as I have almost no funds, just debts on my house I know where to spend my money:-)

Of course when I loose my job tomorrow I be in panic.

Hopefully credit rates will go down in the next years (to stabilize the economy) and not raise (because of a longer panic and distrust period).
I still have five years left to renew my credit contract:-)

Ahh... Ukrainian banks are really weak.
All that they able to do is to get money from the West at 6 percent and to dispense them here at high interest (15-18%).

Although I do have money to update my collection, I voted for "Economic disaster" because I'm sure it will get much worse here in US.

BTW, some economists predict that the gold price will jump to $2000 next year. Buy gold scrap chips now, while they're still cheap Smile

It's hard times (and because of it I lost my job [electronics manufacturing]) but if we make sacrifices (eat less and get healthy!) we can survive through it.

Like others have said, we have spend so much overseas (like in China) and failed to invest in our own infrastructure and industries.

Good luck for the NEAR future donutty!!!

I guess you are the first to loose the job here:-/

I would NOT like your collection to be up for sale soon because of a need for money.

Many here have a reduced budget now...
