| I am currently building an HTPC and am in need of some info. My optical drive is an LG blu-ray/dvd/cd reader and dvd/cd writer model number GBC-H20LI. The processor that i want is an AMD HD985ZXAGHBOX Phenom Quad-Core 9850 2.5GHz 125W L2-2MB L3-2MB Socket AM2+ CPU - Black Edition. My problem is that the optical drive has "Intel Pentium D 3.2GHz processor or equivalent" listed under system requirements. I have never built a computer before so sorry if this is a stupid question. If someone could just give me some advice as to whether or not these two are compatible or if i should get a different CPU that would be fantastic. |

| Yes, you will have a great setup with the Phenom and LG BluRay drive. I am running a much older AMD single core processor and it plays my BluRay movies just fine. Get er done. |

| Forgot the important parts; I have the same LG BluRay drive and it is an excellent unit. Also, I use PowerDVD Ultra for my playback software and it all workd just great/Good luck. |
