I've been collecting chips for quite a few years, and thought I had a decent collection. At least till I found web sites like this. Man, you guys have some impressive lists!

For my part, almost everything I've got is pulls from old/obsolete boards, or fried chips. I did buy 2 chips on e-bay, my P4004 and a Pentium Pro 200 (they were really hard to get for a while), but the rest were pretty much free. Also, it looks like the pride and joy of my collection, my mint-condition C4004, is worth more than I had first thought! Actually stumbled on that one. While cleaning out someone's desk in an old, old computer room at a prior job, I came across a box full of stuff like CPU's, old EEPROM's, LED's, stuff like that. The box had an original C4004 with the associated memory and support chips, and also a C8008, and a few other goodies. Anyway, here's a list of what my collection has in it. Not huge, but I like it.

Intel C4004 (first CPU with grey traces, mint)
Intel P4004 (new stlye)

Intel 8008 (white/gold)

Intel 8080
Intel 8080 (new style)

Intel 80386-20 (20MHz)

Intel 80386-25
Intel 80386-33
Intel 80386sx-16

Intel 80486sx-25 (25MHz)
Intel 80486-25
Intel 80486DX-33
Intel 80486DX2-66 (33MHz run at double speed)
Intel 80486DX2-66 (new style)

Intel Pentium Pro-200

Pentium II-500 (inside case)
Pentium III-866 (866MHz)
AMD 5x86-P75
AMD K5-P100
AMD K6-200
AMD Athlon-900
AMD Athlon-1.3GHz
AMD Athlon-500 (bare slot)

Zilog Z-80.

6502 (1MHz, chip from Apple II)
6502A
65C816 (2MHz)

6800

68000-8 (8MHz, chip from original Macintosh)

68030-25 (25MHz)

68040-25
68040-25, pin side
68040-33

I think next step I need to make a list of what chips I have to trade.

Thanks for listening.

I hope you kept memory and support chips too. They may have very high value for other collectors.

My mistake, the white/gold is an 8080, not an 8008. Hope I didn't cause any heart attacks.

Sorry about that.
