Have you got a board you can test it on? Being the eternal sceptic, I would be quicker to assume it is a regular production chip with the print rubbed off...
I note that the datecode (939) on the back is later than that on a fairly late MII on my site (923)...
Also, I would doubt that a prototype would already have the capacitors on it...

I just test my high speed MII by CPUz
MII-400 Family 6, model 0, step 1
MII-400v Family 6, model 0, step 1
MII-433 Family 6 ,model 0 ,step 1
the blank MII : family 6 , model 0, step 2
this blank MII has a never know MII-CPUID ( at least to me )
besides
the print on the back with wafer No is only seen on cyrix sample
i have never seen productive cyrix chip with the wafer no
due to above finding
i believe this chip is an engineer sample
maybe our cyrix expert--cpushack could help us to id this chip
by the way, as for the capacitors : my other MII samples ( and so do cpushacks') have them |

VBS is a national produced, 0.18u, Singapore assembled MII, which is correct for the MII-433
Lither, what are the codes on the back of those CPU's you tested?
Would be great to see.
Also, see if you have a Cyrix MII 300 marked 2.2 volts (it should be the same process as a 400-433)

According to all the CPUID documentation I have ever seen (summarised in http://www.ukcpu.net/Programming/OS/cpuid.txt), the "stepping" code returned by CPUID indicates the multiplier that is set for the CPU.
Was the FSB changed between tests? The results shown imply:
0601 = FSB 75MHz, multiplier = 2
0602 = FSB 60MHz, multiplier = 2.5
This would give the core speed of 150MHz in each case. You can confirm these values by changing the jumper settings on the motherboard and checking the CPUID values again, you will see for the same CPU it will change depending how the multiplier is set...
Note that the above is based on what various documents, including those from Cyrix, say. It has not been fully checked by me, and I have not checked it recently.
Also, I did not say that samples are unlikely to have the capacitors, I said that a PROTOTYPE (earlier than a sample) is unlikely to have them, as at prototype stage nobody will know for sure what is needed...

due to i am lazy
i just use set one set :external frequency (100 mHz) and one multifi(x3)
therefore
i test the MII 400 (95x3) , MII400v(95x3),MII433(100x3), blank MII in a same setting
100x3
which you can see , my P5AB boot them as MII/IBM 6x86ML 433
i dont think the difference in step is due to setting change
i dont know why the CPUz report 150 core frequency. it even not show the correct data of FSB,cache etc
i think that CPUz doesnt support MII fully
because in the same circumference,CPUz could detect correct data of my K6-3+

i think the step is constant
and has nothing to do with the multiplier (at least the MII and K6)
the cpuid is the same no matter my K6-3+ 500 run on 6x100 or 3.5x100
i have just check genna's data

602 is a new one
