ok, i just did a reinstall of xp on our dell dimension 4300, at the moment i am to lazy to get the specs, anyways. i has been working fine since we got it. i booted it up, and it was going amazingly slow. the thing was slow already, but this was like pre-95 slow. it struggled to even show the mouse moving. i tried a different video card, as i thought that might be the culprit, but i got the same results. i opened task manager, and it showed the cpu going at a 66% load. when i moved the mouse, it went up to 100%. and there were only critical system processes running.
this computer isnt really important to me, but i would like to know if that is the cause of death. |

I'm to lazy to give you answer ... Check if CPU is not overheating. Then I would check power supply. Maybe problem is in drivers. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
