I got these along with about 90 other CPU's today when I dropped off some usable computer parts to a non-profit group that helps low-income people build and take home a free working PC.
I asked if they had any old CPU's or boards that they couldn't use and I got more than I ever expected! This is the first large haul that I have ever come across.
I also rummaged through a box of discarded boards and got some with Sockets 3,5,7 and 8.
I spent 2 hours tonight cleaning heatsink grease and adhesive glue off most of the chips....ughh!
This Intel 486 has "MFG by IBM" printed on it. MEGA-RARE?
Notice the AMD 486 has both P75 and 133 markings on it..what does this mean?
This K6 is seated in a triple layer socket module..is it an Overdrive unit?
This is my first black print K6. Is it a common one?
I will be donating all future used PC's that I get on Freecycle.org to this wonderful group. (They use Pentium III or faster computers only.) |

Hi Johnorun
sorry but they are quite common.
This Intel 486 has "MFG by IBM" printed on it. MEGA-RARE?
-it`s standard IBM 486 manufactured by Intel
Notice the AMD 486 has both P75 and 133 markings on it..what does this mean?
- No it`s also normal 133 is frequency and performance should be same as Pentium 75, that`s why 75 is there
This is my first black print K6. Is it a common one?
Yes |

i think it is like powerleap PL-proMMX
which make the old socket 5 MB to run the faster K6-2 and pentium MMX
nice finding ! |

They are uncommon/rare

At the time AMD had no CPU to fight against Intels new Pentium. So they used a performance rating to compare it to a Pentium 75 (P75).
Same thing they used on th 5K86-P75. This was the first incarnation of the CPU later called K5. Highly advanced design (internally RISC), but some bugs, low yield and low clock rates. A P100 version should exist, but Iīver never seen one.

Well itīs an adaptor to use never CPUs (dual-voltage) like Pentium MMX and K6-2/-III on older socket 5/socket 7 motherboards.

As Sten wrote it`s common. A rare type is K6-2 333 with black print.
