The Hell-chip is very interesting,
you have got it from Lucifer? Wink
NEC is using the same package on some chips....
maybe original manufacturer was NEC?
However considering the oscillator on the left
and (cache?)-RAMs on the right it is probably
a CPU or controller! Smile

at least i have found something interesting...
in one board find the "linotype-hell" mark...
so i googl it and i found this....

http://www.brakensiek.de/navision/ERP/32854/Linotype-Hell-Tango-High-End-Trommelscanner--zum-Ankauf-gesucht--wir-bauen-mit-unseren-eigenen-LKWs-und-Technikern-ab--wir-zahlen-vor-Abbau-mit-Datenblatt-Testbericht-Handbuch-download-osx-Treiber.html

the boards are from this strange machine...
anyone know what kind of scanner is this?
