asus p5nsli cpu upgrade

can I really install E8400 into p5nsli motherboard if I set fsb to 1066 ?

the official asus site doesnt seems to be support this cpu by your mobo..
also thin 45nm cpus....as i know have problems with old nvidia chipset 680i and lower

Yes, with latest bios update E8400 must work with this mobo,
but only witn fsb downclocked to 1066.

to be more precise...the quad at 45nm have problems...
officialy not supported by nvidia..
i dont know if with bios fixes ect the problem solved..
but as frag sayed the cpu runs fine with the latest update

Thank you kosmokrator for responding. The e8400 is duo core just want to be sure before spending $. Just upgraded to two nvidia 9600gso 768mb graphics cards and 3gb corsair xm2 6400 ddr2 memory but still running e6400 cpu. Just upgrading and biding my time untill i7 setup price goes down. jt
