Here is a link to a CPU collector group I created. Check in the photos section for some cool photos of my cpu collection. I will be adding more photos in the day or two. You are free to add your own photos but, please stay on topic. Very Happy

I was not able to see the pictures without registration. Sad And I don't want to provide the required information to yahoo!
IMHO none of the collectors here will provide their private data only to see some CPU pictures.

This forum is the world's biggest CPU collector group. Why don't you join us?

Seems like this happens in every forum im in. Someone starts a forum or a mailing list that does the exact same thing as the one im currently on, but without any visitors. The only difference is that the starter gets to be the admin and ruler of the little universe he created.

And everytime i would like to ask, WHY?? But more, i would like the forum starter to ask himself, -"what does this forum contribute with that the current does not have?" "Is it likely that anyone would jump from a well established forum where (in our case) every one else hangs.

I have no doubts this is out of good intentions but i must also ask why?

Dont be so critical of it, i went there last night and added some pics to the library, And i like the idea that someone else is not deciding what gets put in or not, Since i am already a yahoo user it didnt ask for anything but if I wanted to join the user group and i was in posting pics. I think the best part of it is i can upload my whole collection if i wanted to without having to pay any kind of hosting fees. And then access it from anywhere at anytime to see them or show someone else them . Just because We already have some sites in place for this sort of thing does not mean that they are the best at what they do or anything. Just as an example, I have uploaded alot of bit slice cpus and multipliers to Cpuswe and they dont have a catagory already so they dont get added.Which is fine by me , i am not complaining just giving a different point of view. Just like the last auction software we tried , it worked but not very great so we are going to try somthing else until we find the best suited results. Dont ask why , Ask why not Very Happy

it's always good to try new things and tools.

but some years ago f.e. we had 2 big forums (gennas and grampas) and most questions/group buys/ebay auctions were posted 2 times (in both forums), sometimes with crosslinks between the forums. this was very impractical and confusing.

for me it's now much more easier with 1 main forum (cpu-world.com) and one big cpu picture site (chipdb.org).

both owner of these sites are well known and always "open" for new ideas and changes. so if you are missing something, maybe it's easier to adjust or enhance the existing/well known websites.

just my opinion ...

I understand wanting to start your own site but bring something new to the table or provide a service that isnt available.

Otherwise lets improve/help with our existing community.
