I noticied on eBay australia, dutch auctions will cease to be as of May. cos they are to confusing to buyers

In mid May, the Dutch auction format will be discontinued.
Both buyers and sellers have told us the format is too confusing and this is backed up by our data which shows the Dutch auction format is not widely used, accounting for a very small percentage of all auction listings.
If you currently list with the Dutch auction format you’ll have until mid May to convert your listings to another format, such as single-item auction listings or the multi-quantity fixed price format.
Any Dutch auction listings that are live when the format is discontinued will be allowed to run to their conclusion, and Good ‘Til Cancelled Dutch auctions will relist but will automatically be set to a quantity of one.

I find them very good for the buyer when there is a lot of items for sale.. and not many bidders
What is happening on other eBay sites? _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

I wonder if that also includes store items? I find it annoying at times when there are multiple auctions selling the exact same thing.
The only problem I had with Dutch auctions was that whatever you bid, you paid. There was no automatic bidding. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

Chook,
Store items are always BIN not auctions
With dutch auctions have got some of my best bargains or nothing cos someone can bid at the last second higher knowing what ur bid is.
One thing i learnt is bid on less at the start.. u can always increase ur bid. but not lower ur total bid overall. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

| I hated the dutch auctions. One seller had 2 hp 7200 die containing paper weights. The dutch format makes it near impossible to pick up all the items offered at a decent price because there is no auto bid. I still got one but I wanted both. |
