I'm sure it's worth it for some people - it's a $100 for a quick upgrade as opposed to more money for new CPU, motherboard, memory, new version of Windows (if the old OS is OEM version) + hours replacing the parts and installing the OS.

I upgraded my Dell 8200 2 GHz (400MHz bus) to a 2.6 ES (Thanks John!) that i had out with the LCD TV. That was the difference between being and not being able to play 720p content. So $100 can make a lot of difference in comparison to buying a new rig.

It will be a rare P4 in the future, but it is too pricy currently just to collect it.
