| Would a single core of an overclocked quad 4 (Q9400 -$269) or a (Q9550 - $329) to 3.4 mhz be faster than a 3.0 mhz pentium 4 chip. I know using all 4 cores of the quad cpu would much faster. Also, which cpu listed above - with price attached - would be the better deal. I mainly use my computer for surfing the net, spreadsheets, word and video and audio encoding. |

@Andamus- My Pentium 950 @ 3.4GHz can outcrunch my C2D @3Ghz... So it's not always true! (This is on a password cracker for lost Excel workbook passwords, which I crack more often than I should have to)
But yes, Core architecture is almost ALWAYS superior!! |
