Hi,
I have an Acer Aspire 1300 laptop with a Mobile Athlon XP 1500+ cpu.
The newest bios provides support for Model 10 CPUs but I dont see that on any CPU specs.
Anyone know what is the fastest CPU I can install in this machine ?

Model 10 is a "Barton" core CPU (http://www.cpu-world.com/Cores/Barton.html)which has 512kb L2 cache, your 1500+ has 256kb and is a Thoroughred core. The fastest mobile Barton CPU is a 3000+, which differs quite significantly from your 1500+ as it has 512kb of L2 cache, and dissipates much more heat, so make sure your laptop won't overheat after the upgrade (1500+ is 25W, 3000+ i ~70W).
If I remember correct, there are 2200+ (Barton) models which dissipate around 20-30W of heat, so I guess that would be the safest upgrade. _________________ Power without the price. |

These 3 are the lower-voltage versions (highest speed at rated VCC)
AXMJ2800FHQ4C 1.55V ~50W
AXMG2600FQQ4C 1.45V ~45W
AXMF2500FVQ4C 1.35V ~35W
Lesser speeds at those voltage waste power (kinda)... I'd stick to purchasing one of these 3 processors- That'll do you good. |
