I'm afraid there is nothing special at the back. Just Korea SG and 27 in circles.

... In 1986, V.M.Technology(VMT) was founded. He (Masamichi Izumida) joined VMT as a first engineer and designed x86 compatible microprocessors.

In 1993, ASCII Corp acquired VMT's processor business. He continued x86 compatible microprocessor design at ASCII Corp. At ASCII Corp, he also supported Nexgen NX586 superscaler microprocessor, Acer Laboratory M1386 single chip PC processor ...

Pretty sure that these are 386s.

Now the question would be, is it an in house redesign or are they using a layout from another manufacturer?

I just check this CPU in an Alaris motherboard (VLB, 128k L1 cache, 16MB RAM)

This CPU is faster than stock SX ones.
