Pre-production chips, etc.

Over the last two months I have come across some interesting items from a variety of sources. I thought I would create a single thread to post the new items over the next few days.

First item...... Pre-Production Blank DEC Alpha. This came along with a couple other pieces of pre-production substrate along with some curious ceramic and plastic wafers that I am hoping for feedback on.

I have started collecting items that show the various stages of production of IC's so if you have any to trade let me know.

These were from a warehouse in Florida, that had some kind of relationship with Zevatech. Zevatech manufactures IC production hardware.


This is about the size of 4 x Socket 4 cpu's and is made of ceramic and crazy thin.



Same size but plastic





This is the one I am interested in figuring out what it is. My guess is that it is some kind of salesmen's template.

Here is the front. It looks neat in person as it is ceramic and really funky looking. It is about twice the size of the wafers above.




And the back with templates of different packages. This is what made me think it is a salesman's piece.

I have a box full of pre production chips I won on Ebay last summer and I'll be glad to post pics, if anyone is interested. The unfinished AMD Athlons I sold here awhile back came from this hoard.
