I have come across several Core 2 Duo Mobile CPU's that I am having difficulty in identifying them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked through the CPU World S-Spec database, and found several numbers that are close, but not exact.

They are marked as follows:

LE80537
C626A170 QRSE ES

Another hint - the Intel copyright at the bottom of the chip has an '05 date.

Also, are there any desktop or micro ATX motherboards that is compatible with this CPU?

Thanks in advance.

ES can be tricky. Good luck on ID'ing those Very Happy

Motherboards, that I can help you with.

Your BEST source for these boards is Ebay, do a search for "Socket M" or "Socket P" (in quotes like that) and "-laptop" (boolean, not laptops). This will give you a couple hundred people selling processors, and then a few selling motherboards.

MATX might be hard to find, but ITX (which is MATX compatible, single PCI or PCIe slot) and SBC-type (EBCs or other proprietary motherboards, usually limited expansion).

Wizard1, another question for you -

If I buy a motherboard that is compatible with this CPU, will one of the CPU identification utilities (CPU-Z, etc) indicate the "production equivalent" of the "engineering sample"?

Thanks,

The processor is in a Ball Grid Array (BGA) package, it was intended to be soldered on the board. If you acquired this processor from Chinese sellers, who sell them soldered on a PGA adapter, then you can use it in a socket M motherboard. The BGA chip on the adapter looks like this:
