| We woke up this morning in Sydney to this....a huge dust storm covering the whole of Sydney. It was very weird...post-apocalyptic. And every car is now a nice shade of red/brown |

cool
I remember a day like that in Perth... a day or two before cyclone Alby come thru.
On a side note... clean or change ur car air-filter when it settles down. Most town cars cant really deal with the fine dust.. and it messes with the engine.
..... but thinking... ur probably one of those ppl that drive a 4WD & neva take it off the bitumen _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Is it common to happen in Sydney?
It is weird to see the red color of dust storm.
IMO, it is a really nice picture! and also a very good photography!
PS: if there was a nice laly stand there other than a boy, it would be more romantic _________________ **********************

| Quote: | | Bureau of Meteorology records show that Sydney was also affected by dust storms in April 1994, September 1968, December 1957, and January 1942 |
| Quote: | Sydney has today experienced one of its worst dust storms on record. The dust cloud is extensive and has affected parts of inland South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The dust storm reached central Sydney at 11am, reducing visibility to a few kilometres. Pilots reported that the dust extended 2500 metres into the atmosphere. West of the ranges, the dust was so thick that visibility was down to 300 metres. |

| As a side note, this is right in the middle of when the 2000 Olympics was held in Sydney, so if it had happened 9 years ago it would have been very interesting for the athletes |

They would of done something like what Bejing did.. instead of turning the factories off... they would of rounded up the roos to stop them stirring up the dust _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

It's sad to see tons of Australia blowing away to the ocean.
Sent the pic to the Nat'l Geographic Society...it's really good! _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Which child knocked over all of those blocks in the foreground?
That child needs to come back and put the blocks away, or else no strained prunes for dessert! |
