|
|
hi, ive got a duron 1300 running at the moment, and have been given an athlon 2200. I know about having to reregister windows and the fitting of the component, but will I actually notice a real difference after the upgrade in performance, or will it be pretty much the same as always?
Spec:
duron 1300 @ 1297mhz
geforce 3
2048mb pc2100 Ram @ 266mhz
(the above are the only specs i think are necessary - i'm running a 20gb and a 120 gb hard drive, a pci soundblaster and a wireless networking card)
Thanks for any help |

Reinstalling Windows might not be necessary. Juts plug in the new CPU, make sure it's running at 1800MHz (133FSB) in the BIOS and of you go .
About performance: you will notice a difference. The Athlon XP has a bigger L2-cache, higher FSB and higher clock-frequency. _________________ thandor.net - hardware

Depends on what you do.
But you'll see a more fluid win XP.
Applications that rely solely on frequency will be faster, not inhumanly faster but less time is more time for you |
