Difference PIII xeon 2.8v and 5/12v

I recently bought a Asus XG-DLS Dual slot 2 motherboard.
I was just wondering, would 5/12 volt processors work on this board.
It's not so clear to me if it would work, as the manual doesnt say anything about it, and i don't want to risk ruining the board.
So, what does the difference in voltage mean?

That board is only made for 100MHz bus 2.0V (Tanner core) xeons up to 550MHz

but if you found a board to run Cascades core xeons, this gives you a more info on voltage requirements of the different processors

one thing i learnt was that most are listed as having SC330 or SC330.1 SECC package, some that were made for Intel 440GX chipset boards are listed as a 495-pin SECC package

Boards which are 5/12V require processors with onboard VRegs, and processors with 2.8V ratings are for boards which have onboard or daughterboard voltage regulators.

They are NOT interchangable.
