Hi!! i have intel pentium 4 506 2.66ghz on socket 775 LGA and using motherboard type microstar international ms 7211 version 1.00,My bios version is 6.00 PG (phoenix technologies LTD),Bios size is 512 kb,DMI version is 2.3,Firmware version for this bios is 111.101 and using 512 mb ram x 2 slots=1024,My Problem is my computer always jammed at desktop loading process and get stuck while im browsing to the internet,(it is seem like my computer cannot load its memory & performance as its created),and i getting fed-up because always want to restart if this happen..for ur information im using creative sound card 5.1 version,panda AV + FW 2008 and pc tool firewall and my internet connection is maxis broadband 7.2 mbps speed..I have test my connection speed and yes i know my Isp bandwith is always extremely slow & more worst when its get to peak hours..(busy hours)....I also have scan & eliminate all spyware inside my computer that could affect my computer performance..and one reason that i never do is upgrading my computer hardware.. and for all this story i need a favour & hopefully u guys can help me for this reason only...which best hardware (cpu,ram,others and which best software (that include) do need for upgrading my computer for best smooth performance that suits to my motherboard spec...God bless u..hehe.. Try with one stick of ram at a time and see if the pc freezes again.

To me it looks like either you something wrong with your hardware or you need to reinstall your os.


Try downloading Ubuntu 9.10, burn it and have it starting up your pc.
Check your ram with the integrated program, memtest.
