Just a note from AVICC.

I will not ship any package to a country that's post office is on strike.

Too much risk.

I mention this since the British post office is going on strike in retaliation to the post office wanting to 'modernize' go figure.

(UK Postal Strike in effect for the next two days)

These striking morons seem to think that going on strike actually has the desired effect. It doesnt. All it does is piss off the general public, who, frankly, couldnt give a flying toss about the strike. We just want our mail, and we want it NOW goddamitr1!!!!11

All the changes being brought in by management will happen regardless, and at best the strike will get management to call the new changes by a different name or to do them differently.. the net result is EXACTLY THE SAME.

Get back to work! Royal mail have already LOST the amazon.co.uk contract as a result of announced strike action. Way to go morons.

Yup epic fail.

2nd strike in 2 years.

Losing market share because of it.

The unions wants to ensure that the post office doesnt reduce the amount of workers required to move mail. they want to ensure that automation is not allowed. Basically there goal seems to be to make the royal mail service unable to compete with other more modern companies.

The UAW adn CAW like to do the same stupid things

Our postal service in oz is government owned and they do a great job. I ship 4-5000 items a year with them and have only had one go missing in 6 years (& i think it was delivered but stolen by someone). Pricing is competitive with any private transport companies (better in a lot of cases), they deliver as quick as the others and are a pleasure to deal with. They also make a fair bit of money each year or the govt.
Maybe we should send back some of our convicts to the UK to show them how it can be done properly....lol

hahah yes

the USPS does ok, but not profitable usually.

Too many union rules that prevent them from automating and streamlining.
