Hi there,
Recently my CPU fan stopped increasing its RPM when under load. This means I can no longer do anything heavy duty with the computer, which is a big problem. It occurred shortly after I upgraded my video card to a GTS 450 from an 8800gt.
I've checked the BIOS settings, tried playing around in SpeedFan and cleaned the actual fan itself but to no avail. Strangely enough SpeedFan doesnt detect my GPU fan but detects the card itself. The CPU gets well over 70c when I'm trying to play a game and I can't continue doing this. Please help.
I'm running an Nforce 650i ultra and a q6600 CPU.
Thanks for your time. |

| Reset and reflash the BIOS on your motherboard. |

Turn off Q-Fan option in BIOS (disable it) and check if fan spins faster. If that not helps put old card in PCI-E slot and check if it works faster. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
