Is normal, perhaps a little high for your setup. What is your room temperature?

The booklet that came with the CPU will tell you more than what you want to know about an e6300. _________________ "Have you scanned the RAM timings for Operator's Headspace?? The temperature can be lower because the Pentium Dual-Core E6300 is not a 'hot' processor. It all depends on the room temperature, fan-speed, airflow (addional fans in the system case) and the contact between the heatsink/fan and the processor.
Info on the latter: some CPU's have a bad heatspreader (the aluminium thing on the CPU). The heatspreader is not always about 100% flat which causes bad contact between the CPU and the heatsink/fan. The result is bad cooling.
Some people fix this by 'lapping' their CPU (examples). They use shed paper (600 to 800 to 1000 and eventually 1200 or higher) to shave of the heatspreader and make it flat again. If done correctly the contact between the CPU will be correct but it will also void warranty on the CPU. Before doing things like this read information about it and make sure that your heatsink/fan makes good contact with the CPU. _________________ thandor.net - hardware
