I have upgraded my mobo recently (ASUS P5KPL-AM EPU) paired with Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.60Ghz & Nvidia 9400 graphic card. Confused Now my question is: Does the performance of the processor slow down a bit if you enable both the energy saving technology of the mobo and the processor's EIST? Or disable the EIST function but activate the mobo's power saving function? Which option is the best?

The question is a little confusing as EIST is a function of not only the processor but the motherboard as well. In order to use EIST, it has to be enabled in the BIOS.

It will slow your CPU down, but in theory, all the power is still there just waiting for you to ask for it.....you shouldn't notice any major performance hits but a few before and after benchmarks should let you know for sure..
