im looking for a 2.8ghz cpu (478 pin) and id like to know which sspec code i should pursue... any pointers? The intel sspec finder seems to be lacking some or a very large amount of ppl are making up the sspec code on the cpus they're sellin. If you have the knowledge I think there is a 3.06ghz compatible with the board i'm working with (Intel D845PEBT2); but that seems to be more of a mess as far as finding the one i would want... it'd have to follow the same guidelines 478 pin/512cache/533 FSB/.13 micron

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction... Confused

going by the intel site

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845PEBT2/sb/cs-012857.htm

you can use a 3.06GHz northwood cored processor
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_4/Intel-Pentium%204%203.06%20GHz%20-%20RK80532PE083512%20(BX80532PE3066D).html

and SL6PG & SL6QC are both D1 stepping (newer stepping)

if you wanted a 2.8GHZ.. then SL6PF or SL6QB are the lastest steppings

EDIT >> had a look at the P4 spec update... and there is little difference between C1 & D1 stepping Northwoods.... so any of the sSpecs listed on each of the processor pages will be good Very Happy
