| can anyone tell me which is faster: Intel Pentium 4 531, 3000 MHz (15 x 200) or the AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ |

Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 3800+
2 cores, pentium 4 has only one.
So AMD chip is faster in this case. |

| thanks for the info, can you tell me if the Intel Pentium 4 531, 3000 MHz (15 x 200) is a worthwhile chip to use today or is it a total dog. I just received a pc with this chip and don't know how good it is. |

pentium 4 is still a chip that you could use for normal day use, but not really for the latest games and stuff.
But using it as a normale family pc it would be no big problem. |
