If I may ask - how much did you pay for the grey-trace C1701?

I made an offer to the seller of 860 es, the seller accpeted my offer and modified the listing, then somebody bid in. so I lost. so it was you who get it. it is a good home for it. Very Happy

I think that one went for around $180
The 1702 went for $81.11
and the C4308 went for $60

I am not absoluty postitive on the 1701 , But I do know the sister to that chip auctioned around the same week went for $306.50, I remember the first of the two going for quit a bit less than the second one did. And I can tell by the markings on the chip above it wasnt the second one that sold for $306 altho they were both in great condition and all.

Oh and congrats on the awsome additions to youre collection Peter. You know I love em Very Happy

Nice. I knew the first one had a lower selling price than the second 1701, but I never saved that pic so I wasnt sure, And the C4308 looks like this one I saw sell so I thought it was it. But now that I look closer at them I see the difference, Thats a great price on the chip you bought , Way to go Very Happy

nice chips, of course Smile
I just want to ask - How do you take this amazing pictures?

It´s on the mirror, OK, but how with the light?
without flash?
in special photo box with the black background?
Can you post some pictures of your arrangement during photographing?
pleese

hmm, i think you would be disapointed.

there are 2 ways to get such great pictures.

1) you have equipment for 2000$ or more and spend a lot of time for
taking these pictures.

2) you do it by the way i found.

equipment:

1x very good cleaned mirror 30cm x 30cm
1x brush against the dust on the mirror
1x bright led flashlight
1x camera
i have a Nikon D60 reflex camera with a stand and
a Nikon Coolpix 4500 pocket camera.

ok, i like photographing, but for these amazing chip pictures i spend
most time in front of my pc. so most time i use the pocket camera.
i take the pictures in my living room (its a big room) and always in
the night. so i have my dark room. i put the chip on the cleaned mirror
and with the led flashlight i illumine the chip that the autofocus of
the camera will work. before taking the picture i switch of the light
and use the flash of the camera.
you have to use a very short shutter speed and the right angle to the
mirror. then you will get a not so bad picture.

but for the perfect picture you have to spend a lot of time with photo shop.
each picture is reworked with photoshop! yes, thats really a lot of work,
and sometimes i am very despaired to spend so much work for a picture
of a 0,50 $ chip. anyway, i really love my hobby and i think its absolutely
important to present these great parts as good as possible.
each chips on my pictures have the same angle ---> photoshop, the black background is reworked, lighting and contrast is also reworked with photo shop.

so you see, no special equipment. some tricks, a lot of experience, photoshop and time, time, time.

maybe some of you will say "hey this crazy guy has too much time".
but i am sleeping about 4 hours/night. this is absolutely enough for me.
i am working on the pictures and my website in the night when other people (and my wife Smile ) are sleeping. Cool
