I built this on a budget 2 years ago, more than enough for my needs:

XFX MG-63MI-7109 /NVIDIA nForce 630i/7100 -- MicroATX
3GHZ Pent-D 830 Smithfield Duo Core -Intel CPU code SL8CN
Crucial 3 GB PC5400 DDR2
2GB PC-2-5300U-555-12-E0 (667)
+1GB SAME

HSF - Zalman 7700
PSU - Thermaltake TR2 430W

SATA 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 10ST380815AS- (I use 13 GB Smile )
1 IDE CD-RW / 1 IDE DVD-ROM

Backup clone on HD w clone
Win XP Pro SP3, adding Win 7 and switching to flat monitor within next few years
......................................................................................................................................
I need a new board that fits my CPU and RAM, as the mobo died just after the warranty was up, and is no longer available. Despite that brand name, I do nothing that's CPU-intensive. It had been on sale.

I don't understand chipsets, hyperthreading and bridges, don't have time to get into them, just need a list from Newegg or some other reputable site to choose from. Some other requirements are:

Very tight budget (up to $75 w shipping)
Not interested in upgrading. Don't even think about itl. Smile
Onboard audio, video, LAN
At least 2 PCI slots
3-year or more warranty
At least 1 IDE slot, pref 2
A reputable mfer. I don't need the upset and cost of RMA's, as I've had too many recently with other parts. (every company goofs sometimes, some are better than others.)

Some people tell me that any board listing Pentium 4 or Celeron is fine, others say the specs must specifically list Pentium D. That's why I'm here. Smile
