I have a buyer on ebay making a claim in paypal for non-receipt of their purchases. Is there a problem in Greece with the mail?
They buyer is very quick to file a claim and does not seem to understand there is mail delay due to volcanic ash cloud fiasco. I spoke to the post office here, and they say all airmail items went by road into Europe. Airmail items outside europe have been held in store until the planes are flying again, but there is much backlog.
I am pretty sure the items are in transit, but the buyer didnt contact me, they just went straight to paypal, and filed a claim.
Assuming the chips are "lost". I will post details. My advice to anyone selling to a certain buyer on ebay from Greece with a low feedback (right now the feedback is 16), is to use registered mail with tracking. |

I had same situation but I have won PayPal dispute. If parcell was sent by registered mail - you shouldn't be afraid. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I did not send registered mail in this case. The amount is relatively small, so I am not overly concerned, but it is annoying. also annoying is buyer running straight to paypal and not waiting for more transit time and not opening communication with me.
Maybe they have not heard of the airmail delays due to volcano. Right now I suspect the stuff is just long time delayed in transit, but the buyer is impatient and expects ebay purchases to teleport instantly from seller to buyer. If I could do that, it would be my foot to his ass right now.
Ah well.. from now on, it is pretty simple, all items will just have to go registered mail at the buyer expense.
This is very sad, ebay used to be much better place. It is a shame now with such lack of trust and fools. |

All what we need is adapt to f.... eBay rules. No registered mail = no protection to sellers. Anything what I sell I send by registered mail not important if sold for 0,01 EUR. eBay isn't place for trust _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

The problem with sending everything registered mail is the time. Sellers with many items do not have enough time to process all the stuff, and shipping outside europe adds to the information required. |

I dont think the person is here.
Here are the ebay item numbers:
Item number: 200457249725
Item number: 200457806718
The ebay user is: mariadiamantidou
Hasty buyer with little experience on ebay.. they think the items should be there now, so no matter what I say they file a claim. Nice.
Some advice for anyone reading this thread. If you are a buyer on ebay, you have up to 45 days to file a claim in ebay/paypal. Always contact the seller after a reasonable time, then file a claim after 30-35 days. Accidents do happen, like airmail going surface mail, or even the seller was late making dispatch..... or maybe a huge volcano with long name like eyafagkuloluhfkskulljokaghulljkowejk going BANG. |

shipping registered here is a major pain and expensive
registered adds a $13 fee to the parcel, and adds a week to the delivery
for a$1 or $5 sale, no buyer wants to pay an additional $13 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

So that is risk to seller if he ship untrackable mail. Live is brutal but not for eBay owners. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

The name on the shipping address is male, well, it looks greek to me. I can not give that information out here. Well, I dont know that for sure, but I have a feeling I can not give information like that here.
I am sensitive to only publishing or sharing information that is already in the public domain. All the information I have repeated is found on eBay public view.
As for this buyer, I emailed them a link to this thread. I hope they read it. |

| I also lost a parcel shipped to Greece about 2 years ago, all other parcels in the same batch arrived (to different countries). So I guess they have a higher mail loss rate. |
