This video shows a typical US E-scrap recycling event that pulls in tons on vintage and other electronics from homes and businesses. (also medicine pills)

Too bad we don't get to pick through it first for CPU's! Crying or Very sad

When i am there - yes i get to go through everything myself - fun stuff, but takes LOTS of time.
vintage stuff is out there, i miss many items due to liquidity ... warehouse is not stretchable, so if they get a few trucks - work is 24/7 pretty much and of course i miss lots of things, but when its not so overloaded i go there and dig through.

Do other europeans ever get to visit recycling depots? In the UK, I have no problem.

I find just saying 'I know it sound a bit strange, but...' will get you a long way. People just generally go 'oh, yeah, go ahead'.

I'm also a member of a UK Vintage TV forum and those guys still manage to pull old sets from council recycling depots for the price of a beer to the 'attendants'.
