|
|
I ended up disregarding previous info I had collected on pre-date Intel chips and started again
I searched for boards containing Intel ICs and also other manufacturer ICs with date codes
The earliest boards included Intel ICs with 4 digit lot code
I also found boards with Bxxxx, F0000 & Hxxxx lot codes
The original data is found here on this google spread-sheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19gwo6m7qJXztktg9tAw4hvu_wenL7L-wyndwqRGrLdg/edit?usp=sharing
Some info on the chart posted below
Blue markers are for Intel ICs soldered to boards
Red markers are for Intel ICs socketed on boards
Green/Blue are Intel ICs with lot code & date code on the bottom of the IC
I have added a general trend-line to the plot
I have only allowed 10000 lot codes for the 4 digit lot codes but there is a slim chance these may have been extended to ~13000 before changing to the Bxxxx lot codes
Lot codes prior to the 4 digit code introduction is still a bit of a mystery
guessing 3 digit codes were used, but unlikely would of covered the full period prior to late 1970 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
