does anyone ever see an advantech chip before?
this chip is possible QS , they are given by advantech for evaluate/test purpose
i think , advantech only make 2 kind of chip so far (eva-x4150 and eva-x4300)
from what i know , they never make IC/cpu before

as well know , there is only a few company own the patent /technique of x86
making x86 cpu run a lot of risk of lawsuit (esp from intel )
that is why there are rumors about nvidia tring to merge the VIA
then there is a question
from which does advantech get the x86 patent?

i was told advantech got the right from RDC (but not confirmed)
RDC team ( www.rdc.com.tw) is previous UMC U5/U6 team
therefore, eva-x300 could be considered as a descendant of the UMC 486

actually the patents on the 486 architecture are expired, so its fair game.

several companies make x86 based CPUs now

Genesis, DM&P, Avantech, etc

Some have for years and used old licenses from other companies (ST's license is one of the most commonly used)
