I have several varieties of PIC processors with "ES" labeling. Are these engineering samples?

For example see:

Thanks Norm

If you have similar PIC processors without "ES" label then check if they have a random two-letter code in the place where "ES" label is on the pictured chip. If you have chips with two-letter code different from "ES" then "ES" chips are not engineering samples. If you don't see two-letter code on any of your chips except "ES" chips, then your "ES" chips are probably engineering samples. By the way, my PIC engineering samples have "ENG SPL" label or something like that.
