Hello,

Even though the specs say the CPU can run at a max of 333 MHz FSB, can I use a Athlon 3200 that runs at 400 MHz? If so, can I use the Hybrid Booster to obtain the full benefit of the Athlon 3200?

Thanks!

You can, but the CPU will run at 2.2 GHz * (333/400) = 1.83 GHz.

I never used this utility, but if it allows you to overclock FSB then, because your processor will not be actually overclocked, it may work.

Thank you!

You'd be overclocking your chipset if you set bus speed to 400MHz. It may cause instability. Only way to be sure is to try it.

I'm new to overclocking... what are the risks?

And sorry, one more question...

If I were able to use the Hybrid booster to increase the frequency (FSB) to 400 MHz, does that mean I would be able to use ram that is designed to run at higher frequencies?

For example, the MB is designed to take DDR333 (up to 2 GBs). Could I then use DDR-400 RAM?

Thanks again, and sorry for all of the questions!

Data corruption is possible.

You can use DDR 400 Mhz without any problem.

And both the RAM and overclocked CPU will be able to run at this FSB frequency (provided adequate cooling) despite the motherboard being rated for only 333 Hhz?

VIA KM266Pro were not super overclockable chipset so in my opinion there are only small chances. But well worth to try. Overclocking effect depends on : chipset, CPU, RAM, power supply.
