I'm moving soon. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to safely transport memory chips, and cpus?

If you have thousands of CPUs to move, then congrats you have get pretty lots of hard works to be done Laughing
Just packing them one by one seprately by newspaper or others materials.
For DIPs, find a foam and stick them in then bundle them up.
If convinient you'd better carry the package by your own car to your new home!

the same way applies to RAM, but better using anti-static bag in case you still want to use them

For cheap or non-collection RAM chips you can use antistatic IC tubes.

I got my antistatic bags from here:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Shiny-Hardware-Limited/AntiStatic-Bags-/_i.html?_fsub=1255337015&_sid=45976855&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

They sell them in packs of 100, and much cheaper then a 10 pack for $7 Wink

I moved a couple years ago and used a lot of little cardboard boxes for my cpu's and other smaller parts.
All those little boxes I put in a large (and heavy!) box which I marked and insisted on carrying myself
